After getting into a traffic argument with a woman, hair stylist Shuji arrives at the same destination as her — and makes an unexpected discovery.

Hoping to become a top stylist at Hot Lip, Shuji visits the library to think up a new hairstyle. Kyoko tries to understand her feelings towards him.

Having unwittingly leaked Shuji's new haircut design to his biggest rival, Kyoko attempts to make up for it by researching popular hairstyles.

Shuji rushes to the library to tell Kyoko he has been promoted at the salon but is shocked to discover she has left on a sudden overseas trip.

Shuji learns that fame comes at a price as a surge of customer bookings and interview requests begin to drive a wedge between him and Kyoko.

After Shuji gets injured during the live event, Kyoko feels personally responsible and grapples with anxiety about her inadequacy as his partner.

Kyoko invites Shuji to meet her family but an overly protective Masao is suspicious of his true intentions. Later, she sees Shuji with Satsuki.

Unable to trust Shuji, Kyoko visits a gallery to spy on Satsuki but suffers a painful fall. Shuji learns about the full extent of Kyoko’s illness.

Shuji gives Kyoko a key to his apartment, opening the door to a brighter future together — until some concerning news threatens their happiness.

Worried about Kyoko’s upcoming re-examination, Shuji struggles to remain focused at work. Meanwhile, Sachie gives Masao some surprising news.

Despite Kyoko's diagnosis and Shuji’s work dilemma, the young lovers resolve to live positively and enjoy the time they have left together.
