Uta Sakura lives in Hanamichi Town. One day while on a walk, she meets a fairy named Purirun. Purirun has come in search of Kirakiland’s savior called Idol Precure.
The Queen of Kirakiland, Pikarine, tells Uta about Team Chokkiri and their boss, Darkine. Meanwhile, Cure Idol is going viral on TV and social media as a “mysterious new idol.”
Nana, who is feeling down about a mistake she made during her piano competition, is invited to Uta’s family’s home, Café Glitter. Uta and Uta’s little sister Hamori cheer her up, and she is ready to do her best at the school welcome event…
Just like it did with Cure Idol, the word is spreading about Cure Wink. Meanwhile, another popular “legendary idol” Kaito Hibiki drops by Cafe Glitter.
A man named Tanaka appears before Uta and Nana and says he knows they're Idol Precures. Meanwhile, a message arrives that says, “I want to hire the Pretty Cures.”
Uta and Nana get to know Kokoro Shigure, president of the Cure Idol and Cure Wink Research Club. Purirun wants to become friends with Kokoro and follows her after school.
Kokoro is shocked to see Cure Idol and Cure Wink battle the Makkuranda, and runs away, saying “I can’t do that!” She tries to forget about the Idol Precures that she loves by putting away all her merchandise and dancing her troubles away, but…
Kokoro says she wants to study Cure Idol and Cure Wink, so they decide to have a sleepover at Uta’s house.
On their way home from school, Nana suddenly begins acting strangely. When she continues to say and do strange things, Uta and Kokoro start to count the “Seven Wonders of Nana.”
The Idol Precure songs are being made into a CD, so Cure Idol and the others start recording. But Cure Kyun-Kyun is so nervous that she can’t sing well.
Inspired by the school broadcast, Uta and the others begin to think about their dreams for the future. To help Uta, who is having trouble deciding, Nana and Kokoro begin “Uta’s Dream Search Project.”
A new arrival to Hanamichi Town from Kirakiland is discovered. Purirun says it’s Meroron, and Uta and her friends go searching for them.
Uta and her friends form a girls volleyball team for the school ball-game tournament. On her team is Wakaba, a member of the official school team. She’s in love with Shota, another volleyball player, and declares that she’ll tell him her feelings if they win.
Kokoro’s mother has to work despite it being the weekend, and Kokoro sees her off. Kokoro buys her a carnation for Mother’s Day and has trouble coming up with a good message for the card, so she drops by Cafe Glitter to get some advice.
Meroron is jealous of Purirun’s relationship with Uta, so Uta and the others, who also want to be closer with Meroron, encourage Purirun to spend more time with Meroron. Purirun invites Meroron to dress in matching outfits and go on a date.
Idol Precure is invited to appear at the Hanamichi Town Festival. Uta and the others want to make the event a success, so they ask Tanaka to help them make an intensive practice regimen.
Purirun desperately wants to help Uta and decides to go to Kirakiland with Meroron. Meanwhile, Uta and the others are preparing to go on stage at the Hanamichi Town Festival.
A mysterious duo has suddenly appeared: Cure Zukyoon and Cure Kiss. Uta wakes up in the middle of a dream about Cure Zukyoon, and even at school her head is full of Cure Zukyoon all day. Kokoro sees this and determines that Uta has become a fan of Cure Zukyoon.
Cure Idol and her friends chase after Cure Zukyoon and Cure Kiss but lose sight of them. Sometime later, a magazine reporter who wants to learn the truth about the duo appears, and Uta and the others offer to help.
Uta and the others learn that Purirun gave up all their memories of them to become a Pretty Cure. Uta and the others invite the fairies on a picnic to try to recover Purirun’s memories.
