Act 1

Alternate Gabriel systematically sabotages the Annunciation. He announces himself as the "one true savior," fooling the shepherds.

An unidentified hostile organism has been reported. Mark Heathcliff gets a call from his friend, Cesar Torres, asking him to turn on security cameras at his house. Cesar explains that he's on his way to the hospital, because his mother appeared to have been rendered unconscious for no reason. Whilst there, Mark has an encounter.

An entity has begun taking thousands of children.

Mark's troubled past is revealed, and the history of alternates is explained.

In 2009, Adam and Jonah, members of the Bythorne Paranormal Society, get a request from a woman to help put her cat's spirit to rest while the woman is away. After arriving to the house, they realize that everything is not as it seems.

In 1992, reports of crying send two divorced Murray parents to work together. Detective Thatcher investigates paranormal activity. Mark Heathcliff's body is found.

Thatcher Davis responds to his encounter with the alternate.
