01. Episode 1

The observational documentary returns, this time giving an insight into the work of doctors at Balham Park Surgery in London, who have over 18,000 patients on their books. Dr Sara Kayat must treat a patient who is experiencing a full-blown panic attack, while Dr Clare Taylor has an asthmatic's life in her hands when they suffer a severe attack at the surgery. Elsewhere, Dr William Laird must break the news of stomach cancer to his patient, and a man suffering with throat cancer recounts a recent ordeal which left him hospitalised. Plus, a young man seeks Dr Chris Pearce's advice on various conflicting reports on his fertility.

The effects of substance abuse are clear when Dr Eleanor Beecraft is forced to call an ambulance for a patient who may have taken a drugs overdose. Lucy worries that her bloated stomach is ovarian cancer, but Dr Morris thinks the culprit is more likely to be broccoli.

However, the doctor suspects a more sinister cause - crack cocaine - and leaves Allan in no doubt as to the risks of continuing with such a dangerous habit.
