Season 2

Hala dies in a psychiatric facility. Lara has a daughter that they name Hala. As the family comes together for the funeral, everyone expects Yasma to return from abroad to see her mother. Yasma is surprised to find Fares at the airport.

Yasma ignores Fares. Fawzy's family points the finger at one another regarding Hala's death. Zakia asks Fares to forget about Yasma. Hala's cousin, Halim, arrives to see Youssef and reveals that he knows everything about them.

Fares meets Salma and her daughter Karen, the new tenants who rented Zakia's restaurant and house. Halim asks for an autopsy for Hala's body. Youssef refuses to accept Fares's condolences and accuses him of causing Hala's death. Youssef meets Salma at her cafe.

Fares and Yasma quarrel after she refuses to resume their relationship. When Yomna insults Tofaha, the latter leaves Yomna's place after saving a girl from the men who were chasing her. Fares confronts Fawzy in front of Salma's cafe.

Fares gets close to Karen. It's revealed that Hala died due to excess electrotherapy, even though the psychiatric facility denies it. Youssef accuses Fares of being in cahoots with the facility. Yasma vows revenge on Hala's killers. Jad gets close to Yomna.

Sag'an asks Fares to stay away from Fawzy's family until the investigation is concluded. Fares assures Youssef that he didn't have Hala imprisoned, even though she confessed to her crime. As he asserts that he had nothing to do with Hala's death, he also asks Yasma to forget about him.

Yasma tells Yomna that she ran away from Fares because she is a coward. As Fares plans to travel to Lebanon with Karen, Yasma breaks down when she sees them together. Hala's funeral is held.

Youssef accuses his father of killing Hala. When Yasma learns that Fares and Karen traveled together, she furiously accuses him of cheating on her and of being apathetic to Hala's death. Sabah's neighbor, Alaa, tries to support her during these trying times.

Lara quarrels with Youssef. It's revealed that there is no evidence that Hala's death included foul play. Yasma implores her family to unite and open a clinic for the poor.

Fawzy suffocates under the weight of his loneliness. Youssef and Lara reconcile. As Yasma catches feelings for the clinic's new doctor, Essam, she invites him to the opening party for Karen's cafe, where she ignores Fares and treats Karen coldly.

Halim incites Youssef against Fawzy. When a drunken Fawzy kicks up trouble at the restaurant, Fares badmouths him, which provokes Yasma who vows revenge. Fares is beaten by unknown assailants.

Fares refuses to allow Essam to treat him and points the finger at Youssef for his assault. Yomna warns Yasma against using Essam to make Fares jealous. Fawzy apologizes to Salma for his actions. Fares warns Yasma against trying to harm him.

Yasma tells Fares to move on because she has fallen out of love with him. Fares tells Sag'an that he wishes to run for the elections. When Youssef finds out, he takes his men to Sag'an's house and threatens him if he helps Fares.

Lara overhears a phone call between Halim and mysterious caller that shows her a different side to him. Yasma gets close to Essam and the townspeople. Fares confesses his feelings for Karen.

Yasma recounts her story with Fares to Essam. Fawzy and Salma continue to grow closer. Fares gets mad when he sees Karen dancing with someone else. Yomna gets in touch with Tofaha. Youssef refuses to believe Lara when she shares with him what she overheard from Halim.

As Youssef tries to resolve the workers' strike at his factory, he accuses Sag'an of being involved in what is happening. Sag'an promises Fares his help. Fawzy and Yasma learn about what happened between Lara and Halim. Sag'an encourages Fares to propose to Karen to curtail any slander.

Fares decides to propose to Karen, despite Zakia's attempts to get him to reconsider. Yasma breaks down when she learns of Fares's intentions. Halim advises Youssef to sell the factory to resolve his financial difficulty. Tofaha gets in a fight with Yomna.

With Zakia's interference, Salma tries to get Karen to reject Fares's proposal. Halim threatens to expose Lara in front of Youssef and get him to kick her out for being illegitimate if she thinks to stand against Halim.

Against her mother's warning, Karen accepts Fares's proposal. It's revealed that Karen has a history with a man named Amer. Youssef tells the workers that he is going to sell the factory, which provokes them into destroying the factory. Fares decides to help the workers find jobs to win them over.

Yasma confesses her feelings for Essam. Yomna is kidnapped by unknown assailants who blackmail her family to bring her back. Fares gets Sag'an to hide the fact that he is the buyer of Youssef's factory.

Jad and Tofaha discover that Yomna's kidnapper is a relative of the girl whom Tofaha is looking after. Yomna is shot during her rescue. Halim holds a mysterious secret over the head of Sa'eida, Lara's maid.

As Yomna passes away, Fares embraces Yasma to console her, right in front of Essam. One month later, Sag'an tells Fawzy's family that the lab has been sold to a mystery buyer. Yasma suspects that the mystery buyer is Fares.

Youssef's family grows furious when they learn that Fares bought the lab. Yasma grows more resentful of Karen and Fares. Salma assures Zakia that Karen won't be able to wed Fares. Karen is tormented by the secret she is keeping from Fares. Lara tries to discern how Sa'eida is connected to her.

Sa'eida denies that she told Lara that she is illegitimate. Salma warns Karen against telling Fares that she is married. Sa'eida tells Sabah that Halim is a fraud.

Zakia shows her true colors and threatens to bring Karen's husband over if Salma doesn't get Karen away from Fares. Karen grows more obsessed with Fares. Lara flees with the baby after she learns that Youssef wants her to see a psychiatrist.

Youssef loses it when Lara vanishes. In an attempt to sabotage Fares's relationship with Karen, Salma tells Fawzy that Fares is the one who bought the lab.

Zakia tells Fares that Salma and her daughter are hiding something. Fares and Yasma quarrel when they meet at the lab. Fawzy is unable to uncover Sa'eida's secret.

As Fares assures Karen that he loves her, she feels guilty for keeping the news about her forced marriage to Amer from him. Lara turns to charlatanism. Fares is stumped by how close Salma and Fawzy have gotten.

Karen confesses that her mother married her off to the wealthy Amer, who used to abuse her. She tells Fares she ran away from him but she didn't get a divorce. As Fares quarrels with Karen for lying to him, he discovers that Zakia purposely brought Karen and her mother into the neighborhood.

When Fares uncovers Zakia's lies, she uses the fact that she is the owner of the land on which the restaurant is built to threaten him. Yasma confesses her love for Essam. Yasma manages to win over a number of workers as she tries to have the lab's purchase contract declared invalid.

Fares contacts Amer and informs him of his intent to wed Karen after Amer divorces her. Yasma is unable to convince Lara to return home, as the latter continues to rub shoulders with charlatans.

Essam gets engaged to Yasma. Fares quarrels with Zakia, but they are quick to reconcile. Lara's paranoia increases. Fares waits for Amer to arrive in Lebanon.

Salma is terrified when she learns that Amer is on his way. She finally reveals to Karen that she forced her to wed Amer because she was involved in his drug trade. It's revealed that the charlatan that is playing Lara is working with Halim.

Fares loses his temper when he learns that Yasma got engaged. He confesses that he meant to end his engagement to Karen once he helped her with her dilemma with Amer. Fawzy takes Salma's side during a quarrel with Fares.

When Fares fails in getting Yasma to change her mind, he vows revenge on her. Sa'eida reveals that she is Lara's biological mother and that Halim is the one who kidnapped Lara and threatened to kill her.

Karen discovers that Fares is still in love with Yasma. When Halim asks for money to bring Lara back, Sabah comes up with a plan to discern if he really knows Lara's whereabouts.

When Zakia kicks Salma and Karen out, Salma enlists Fawzy's help, but Sabah warns him against getting involved. Yasma and Essam plan to travel and leave the town. Karen runs away, leaving Salma behind.

Sabah warns Yasma about Youssef's attempt to cancel her wedding. Karen tells Salma that she is going back to the US to confront Amer.

Youssef threatens Halim to bring back Lara. Yasma travels with Essam.

It's revealed that Halim is actually called Mufid and that he is Lara's grandfather, the father of the man who raped Sa'eida. Yasma and Essam wed, but they soon face problems when she speaks about Fares. Salma tries to wed Fawzy so that he could protect her from Amer.

The charlatan steals Lara's money and leaves her broke. Yasma is shocked to find Salma in her father's house and threatens to cut ties with him if he weds Salma. Yasma is furious when she learns that Sabah and Zakia have been collaborating to help the townspeople.

The police locate Lara and the baby and confirm that Mufid has nothing to do with her kidnap. Fares congratulates Yasma on her marriage and promises to treat Essam with respect.

When Lara returns, Youssef tries to get her and baby Hala away from what is happening. Youssef quarrels with Fares when the latter refuses to sell the lab. Tensions rise between Essam and Yasma.

Youssef strives to run the elections. Sa'eida tries to help Lara return to normal. Essam discovers that Fares and Yasma are talking to each other.

Salma pressures Fawzy to wed her. Essam takes his anger out on Sabah after he sees a video call between Yasma and Sabah that shows Fares in the background as they open a school in town.

As Essam's anger and jealousy mounts, Fawzy confronts him. Fares throws a party to encourage the voters to vote for Sag'an. Youssef kicks Lara out of his house.

Fares tells Zakia that he likes Heba, Youssef's former fiancée. Yasma and Essam have yet another fight. Sag'an informs Fares that Youssef is bribing the voters.

Yasma tries to hide Essam's jealousy. Youssef fills Heba's ears with lies about Fares to turn her against him. Yasma and Essam arrive in the town for the elections.

When Sag'an wins the elections, he vows to kick Youssef out of the town. Yasma grows jealous when she notices the closeness between Fares and Heba. When Essam grows angry, Yasma holds out hope that he will change.

Lara finds out more details about her family. Salma learns that Youssef is planning to burn Fares's lab and decides to warn the latter. When Salma and Yasma quarrel, Fawzy intervenes to end the fight.

Yasma meets Fares in Sabah's house. Despite warning him about Youssef's plot, she pleads with him not to expose Youssef. Sag'an advises Fares to report Youssef to the police, regardless of his promise to Yasma.

When Essam overhears Yasma sharing the date on which the lab will be burned with Fares, he accuses her of cheating on him and taunts her with her family history. Youssef invites his family to dinner.

Salma tells Fares about Yasma's suffering with Essam. Essam awaits for the news of the fire at the lab to confirm Yasma's story. Fawzy's family reunites with Lara.

When the lab's guard is shot, both the perpetrator and Youssef are arrested. Yasma goes to town against her husband's wishes. Fares tells Yasma that he knows that she is miserable with Essam.

Fares offers to drop the charges against Youssef if the latter leaves him alone. Yasma is devastated when she learns of Sabah's decision to take in the daughter of Dala', a woman who is connected to the gang that killed Yomna.

Essam overhears Yasma confessing to Fawzy that she is still in love with Fares. Zakia convinces Fares to wed Heba.

Fares forces Fawzy to beg him to save Youssef in front of Zakia. Wishing to avoid a life of misery like the one Yasma is trapped in, Fares refuses to wed Heba.

When Youssef is released, he is quick to get his gun to kill Fares. Essam confronts Yasma with the cofession he heard and accuses her of cheating on him.

Youssef comes to his senses after Yasma protects Fares. Yasma asks for a divorce. Youssef decides to leave the country with Lara and his daughter.

Essam divorces Yasma. When Fawzy informs Fares of the divorce, he seeks Yasma out and weds her. Sabah adopts the baby daughter of Dala' in the wake of the latter's escape.
