In 1947, the 48-year-old Crown Prince Frederik was proclaimed King of Denmark. The new royal couple is introducing a new and more open style than the king's father Christian X. But soon the new king is faced with a difficult choice, as he must help decide whether his eldest daughter, Princess Margrethe, will ever inherit the throne.
